Frequently Asked Questions
What mediums do you use?
The mediums I use include:
What is the framing approach?
All materials used in the process are acid free...to preserve the
quality. Colors and styles are selected
by the artist to enhance the appearance of the artwork. If you have special concerns or need advice on framing the artwork
yourself, feel free
to contact me. Please view some examples of framed art work here.
Do I need a photo taken during the summer?
If your photo was taken in the winter, I can transform the painting to make it appear as it would in the summer.
Can you add or eliminate things from the supplied photo wihle rendering the portrait?
Yes, this kind of request is quite common.
Do you do home portraits for Realtors?
Yes, Realtor commissions are a specialty of mine. Within Rhode Island,
I will take your orginal photo if needed (at no additional charge). Just send me the property
address of the home to be rendered.
By commissioning me to render a house portrait,
you are giving your clients something beyond the traditional realtor
closing gift. You are telling them that you value their business
and that you enjoyed working with them. The right closing gift will trigger a positive response, generate
goodwill, remind your customer about your agency and add perceived
value to your services. Your gift of an original house portrait
will hang on the wall of the homeowner, serving as a virtual indoor
billboard for your business with the potential to turn your goodwill
gesture into more sales. Your closing gift of a house portrait will give you a great
return on your investment. It is personal, long lasting and may
be displayed for generations. It is a marketing tool that generates
long-term results with just one surprisingly affordable purchase.

What are the photo requirements?
Supplying a Traditional Print By US Mail:
Your photo should be clear and reasonably
sharp. A color photo must
be supplied if your painting is going to be in color. Either color
or black and white prints can be used if your painting is going
to be black and white.
For house portraits, photos taken from a slight angle generally
work best as they add interest and depth to the composition. It
is also best to take the photo on a sunny day. You may include more
than one photo to show detail but be sure to indicate which photo
you want the painting rendered from. Note that you can take a photo during the fall/winter season, and have it rendered as if it were taken during the spring/summer.
